Our Story

Built to Serve Every Malaysian

MARALINER was established as part of MARA's mission to uplift Bumiputera economic participation and provide equitable mobility across Malaysia. From 10 buses in 1985 to 2,860 today, we have grown into a national institution.

Under CEO Wan Agyl Wan Hassan, MARALINER is entering its most ambitious transformation — EV technology, smart fleet management, multimodal integration, and digital-first service delivery.

1985

MARALINER Founded

Established under MARA mandate to provide affordable intercity transport for Bumiputera communities across Peninsular Malaysia.

1998

National Expansion

Fleet expansion to all 14 states. Rural stage bus network established, connecting thousands of villages to urban centres.

2010

SVIP Coach Launch

Introduction of Super VIP executive coaches — setting new standards in Malaysian intercity travel.

2018

Smart Selangor Contract

Awarded the BAS.MY state bus contract — 150 buses across all Selangor local government areas.

2026

Transformation Era Begins

New CEO, 6 strategic MOUs, EV transition, KATSANA smart fleet, Grab integration — the boldest chapter yet.
